Slobodan Ćurčić, professor of Archaeology and History of Architecture at Princeton University, discussed in April 1997 the evolution of Cypriot Byzantine architecture from the first years of Christianity (4th–5th centuries) to the abolition of the Eastern Roman State in Cyprus during the 12th century.
