Στη διάλεξη που έδωσε τον Νοέμβριο του 1998, ο διευθυντής του Νομισματικού Μουσείου Αθηνών Ιωάννης Τουράτσογλου διερεύνησε το ρόλο των νομισμάτων ως φορέων των μηνυμάτων της νέας κοσμοθεωρίας που αναπτύχθηκε την εποχή του Μεγάλου Αλεξάνδρου και στη συνέχεια υιοθετήθηκε από τους Διαδόχους και τους μετέπειτα ισχυρούς της γης. In a lecture delivered in November 1998, the director of the Athens Museum of Numismatics, Ioannis Touratsoglou, examined the role of coins as means of propagating the new order of things established by Alexander the Great and adopted by his successors and subsequently the rulers of the earth.
